Career Experience

I worked as a tutor in a writing center for three years, and in that time, had the pleasure of working with hundreds of students. In those tutoring sessions, I worked on dozens of different types of papers. I loved the challenge and intrigue that came along with each individual experience. I've worked with all sorts of students and projects, ranging from high school argumentative papers, to master-level thesis projects, to freshly written wedding vows. I've also spent time as a visiting lecturer for a tutor training class, college composition class, and college poetry class. Basically, I've been around English and writing tutoring for quite some time, and I'm excited to be keeping it up here at Tutor.com!

I Love Tutoring Because

I love to tutor. My philosophy is that writing is communication, and that communication leads to knowledge, and knowledge leads to understanding, and understanding leads to empathy. I think empathy is the key to peace and happiness among people. I think to be an educator of language, someone who can help to enhance and sharpen another's voice, is a way in which one can promote that very peace and happiness.
