Career Experience
I have an extensive background and professional practice as a registered nurse. My specialty has been in maternal-child and women’s health that expands over 39 years. In the last sixteen years of my nursing career, I have practiced as a nurse educator/nursing faculty member for didactic theory and lecture in classroom as well as clinical and laboratory instruction. My teaching has included subjects in maternal/newborn, pediatrics, medical-surgical to include reproduction, fundamentals, and foundational nursing courses in PN as well as RN programs. I have also assisted students with NCLEX prep testing. My primary goal is to develop the next generation of nurses. In addition to my role as a nurse educator in academia, I have practiced as a maternal-child nurse clinician. I am a certified childbirth educator, educating and preparing families in childbirth and parenting. I have been involved in planning, coordinating and evaluating educational programs, and continue to remain passionate, motivated, and enthusiastic in these efforts, preparing the next generation of nurses to provide excellent nursing care to our patient population.
